In a thrilling finish after snow and visibility conditions improved, veteran skier Steven Nyman took the win with 1:28:82 in Val Gardena’s (Italy) Downhill (the 3rd of the 2012/2013 season) that just ended a few minutes ago. His previous best result was precisely a win in Val Gardena’s Downhill in late 2007.

Rok Perko from Slovenia took 2nd place with 1:29:01.

Third place went to Canadian Erik Guay (1:29:06).

The current World Cup Leader Aksel Lund Svindal took 5th place.

Svindal still leads both the Downhill and overall Alpine Skiing World Cup standings.

Next Downhill event will take place in Bormio (Italy) next December 29th.
