Super Athletes – Cristiano Ronaldo: 192 Goals in 192 Games for Real Madrid!

There is little to say about Cristiano Ronaldo that Football Fans already don’t know. He was considered by FIFA the best player of the world in 2008, was second best in 2009, 2011 and 2012, and 3rd best in 2007.

But maybe you don’t know that last Wednesday (Champions League Match against Galatasaray) he reached the amazing record of 192 goals in 192 official games played with Real Madrid’s Jersey (only in 4 seasons).

This makes him the 7th best goal scorer of Real Madrid just 2 goals from 6th (Santiago Barnabéu – played 15 seasons -, which is the current name of Real Madrid Stadium) and 16 goals behind Mexican Footbal Legend Hugo Sanchez (7 seasons in Real Madrid). Ronaldo is, however, the player with the best mean of all: 1 flat goal per match!

The 4th best goal scorer is the mythic Hungarian player Ferenck Puskás with 238 goals. If Cristiano Ronaldo stays, at least, for another season in Real Madrid he will surely pass Puskás (8 seasons at Real Madrid). In 2010/11 (season in which, like in 2007/08, he received the award for best European scorer- Golden Boot) Cristiano Ronaldo became Real Madrid’s player with most goals in a season (54) beating the record that was in possession of….Puskás! In 2009 he was the first player to win FIFA’s Ferenck Puskás award for the best goal in the Champions League: a 40 metre wide kick into FC Porto nets while he was still playing for Manchester United (see video below).

The 192 goals mark show that Cristiano Ronaldo is awesome in every way since he scores regularly in every competition as well as in different manners, you just have to choose. A real “Goal Focused Beast” as you can see in the tables below:

  2009/2010 2010/2011 2011/2012 2012/2013 Total
Champions League 7 6 10 9 32
Spanish League 26 41 46 28 141
Spanish Cup 0 7 3 6 16
Spanish Super Cup 0 0 1 2 3
Total 33 54 60 45 192
  2009/2010 2010/2011 2011/2012 2012/2013 Total
Head 3 5 7 5 20
Left Foot 5 9 9 16 39

Penalty Kick 4 9 14 7 34
Free Kick 6 6 4 2 18
Total 33 54 60 45 192

And on top of these 192 goals he has more than 40 passes for goal!

Ronaldo was Spanish Champion in 2010/2011 (scoring 40 goals in 36 matches), won also once the Spanish Cup, and was decisive to this season conquest of Spanish Super Cup against archrivals Barcelona.

In Manchester United, where he played for 6 seasons he scored 118 goals (16 in the (Champions League) in 292 matches. It was precisely with Manchester United that he won (till now) is only Champions League Trophy (2007/2008). He was also 3 times Champion in the English Premier League (in a row from 2006/07 till 2008/2009) and also won a FA Cup.

Before moving to Manchester United in 2003 he took his first steps in Sporting Clube de Portugal, where he played 31 official matches and scored 5 goals. He was Portuguese Champion in 2001/02 and won the Portuguese Cup in that same year.

With the Portuguese national team Ronaldo has 38 goals scored in 102 matches.
