The Tour de France 100th edition produced major changes in the UCI Ranking.

Remember that the Tour de France awards the following UCI Points:

• 200-150-120-110-100-90-80-70-60-50-40-30-24-20-16-12-10-8-6-4 to the first 20 riders of the final general classification;

• 20-10-6-4-2 points will be assigned to the 5 riders of each stage.

The biggest up movers are Mollema and Quintana and Scarponi, Cancellara and Nibali (all absent from the Tour) are the ones that will fall harder in UCI rank.

Portuguese Rui Costa, despite his major achievement in the 100th Tour – he won 2 mountain stages, something that only one other Portuguese rider (Joaquim Agostinho) made it back in 1969, dropped to 13th.

But his hopes to finish inside Top 10 – as he did last year – are not over yet since a lot of UCI points are still on dispute specially in the ‘Vuelta’ and the Tour of Beijing, although we’re not sure if Costa will take part in any of these events.
