“Reigning Formula One world champions Sebastian Vettel and Red Bull Racing have both been nominated for the Laureus World Sports Awards 2013, the winners of which will be announced in Brazil in March.
Vettel, who last season became the youngest triple world champion in F1 history, is up for the World Sportsman of the Year accolade. Also nominated are 2012 Tour de France winner Bradley Wiggins, swimming legend Michael Phelps, athletes Usain Bolt and Mo Farah – all of whom won Olympic gold medals last summer – and footballer Lionel Messi.”

“Red Bull, whose 2012 constructors’ title was their third in as many years, are nominated in the World Team of the Year category, going up against Spain’s world cup-winning football squad, golf’s European Ryder Cup team, NBA winners Miami Heat, the United States men’s basketball team and China’s Olympic table tennis squad.
It is the third year in a row that Vettel and Red Bull have received nominations. Past Laureus winners from the F1 world include Michael Schumacher, Jenson Button, Lewis Hamilton, Brawn GP and Renault.”
Last year winners of World Sportsman of the Year and World Team of the Year were respectively Tennis Player Novak Djokovic current n.º 1 ATP and FC Barcelona.
