In a following post we will reveal the race calendar for 2013.

Super Athletes – Valentino Rossi: Moto GP Multi-champion and also skilled on 4 Wheel Driving

Valentino Rossi is one of the most skilled Motorbike drivers ever. He has collected 9 World Titles in prime Motorbike championships, 7 of them in the King Category (currently known as MotoGP, and previously 500 cc class), five of them in a row between 2001 and 2005. He won 4 times riding a Yamaha Bike and 3 times with Honda.

Only one ancient and very famous driver (also Italian Giacomo Agostini) has a better record than ‘Il Dottore’ (Rossi’s nickname) in the King’s Bike category with 8 World Titles. Nonetheless, Rossi registers currently 79 race victories in the King’s Category while Agostini ‘only’ recorded 66. Moreover, Rossi has both the record of podium finishes (138) and pole positions (59)

Running for the last two years with Ducati Rossi has not yet reached a victory with the Italian Team, but 2012 saw him finishing twice as runner-up in Le Mans and in San Marino.

But Il Dottore is also skilled on 4 wheel driving, not only he had finished 2nd in the 2010 Monza Rally, as well as he tested several times for Ferrari in Formula 1. Although rumors that in some point in time, he would swap Bikes for F1, are now long gone, Rossi registered impressive lap time with Ferrari, showing that he has the ability to drive in F1 at top-level.

In 2010, after two days and more than 370 miles around Circuit de Catalunya in Spain, Valentino Rossi recorded his fastest lap time of 1:21.90 on his penultimate lap almost reaching the pole position time of 1.21:67 set by former Ferrari driver Kimi Raikkonen in 2008 with the same Ferrari model, but with weaker performing tyres than Rossi.

Rossi was considered one of the five top sportsmen of the 21st century first decade.
